Abang Temple

Abang temple is a Hindu temple located in Sleman, Yogyakarta.
This temple is located not far from the temple Banyunibo and Barong, namely in the hamlet Candiabang, Village Jogotirto, District Berbah, Sleman, Yogyakarta. Place this temple is also adjacent to the Adisucipto Airport.
This temple was built in the 9th century and 10th at the time of the Ancient Mataram Kingdom. Nonetheless, this temple is estimated to have a younger age than other Hindu temples.
Pyramid-shaped temple is named Candi Abang because it is made of red brick (abang in Javanese). The temple forms the form of a rectangle with size 36 x 34 meters, now overgrown with grass so that from afar seems a bit like mound or small hill.
When first discovered, in this temple there is a statue and symbol of the god Shiva yoni pedestal segidelapan shaped (not rectangular, as usual) with sides measuring 15 cm.
